What is vibe maxxing?

Vibe maxxing means taking your image to the max of your own vibe: your hair, brows, makeup, clothes and accessories all telling the same story. It was born on TikTok with before-and-after makeovers. It's not copying someone else's aesthetic or changing your face: it's the same woman with clearer style choices.

Where the term comes from

“Maxxing” is a suffix that took off online to describe taking something to the max. On TikTok, vibe maxxing videos show a woman before and after a full styling: haircut, color, makeup and clothes aligned with the energy she already gives off. Unlike other “-maxxing” trends, there's no talk of surgery or changing features here.

The 5 levers

  1. Hair: the haircut and color that match your vibe (not the vibe of the reference photo).
  2. Brows: their shape and intensity frame your eyes.
  3. Makeup: texture (matte, satin, natural) and shades from your palette.
  4. Clothes: silhouettes, fabrics and colors that tell the same story.
  5. Accessories: the metal, scale and details that finish the look.

What it isn't

  • It isn't copying an influencer's aesthetic: the goal is to find yours.
  • It isn't changing your face or talking about procedures.
  • It isn't buying everything new: often you can get there with what you already own.

Vibe maxxing, step by step

  1. The client: your front-view photo, makeup-free, in window light.
  2. The vibe I saw in her: a name for your aesthetic and a 4-image moodboard with textures, places and objects.
  3. The makeover: the digital simulation with haircut, color, brows, makeup and styling, with your face untouched.
  4. The step-by-step: what to ask for at the salon, what to buy and how to put it together.
